Ragi Uttapam Recipe

I'm sure Ragi Flour is used in a lot of recipes. But today I'm going to show you a dish which is made with Whole Ragi and that's going to be included in your everyday meal. and let's see the recipe of Ragi Uttapam.

As you all know, Ragi is a millet as it's easy to digest and enables weight loss. So today, I'm going to start with explaining the batter. I've taken 1 cup of Whole Ragi here. Make sure you rinse it very very well because there is a lot of impurities, so wash it two three times.

Into that, add in 1/4 cup of Urad Dal or White Lentils and 1 tsp of Methi Seeds or Fenugreek Seeds. So mix 1 cup washed and rinsed Ragi Whole Ragi.1/4 cup of washed and rinsed Urad Dal  and 1 tsp of Methi Dana.

Make sure you soak it for at least 8-10 hours. After soaking all the 3 ingredients rinse it once again and into that, add in 2 tbsp of cooked Rice and grind it into a smooth batter. And after grinding everything together this is how it looks. The process of making the Batter is pretty similar to Dosa Batter.

It's just that the ingredients have varied. Now let's start making so first I'm going to start with heating the pan. Into the batter, I'm going to add in Salt. Give it a good mix. You might need to add in a little bit of water while grinding the Batter.

And this is the perfect consistency of the Batter. Once the pan is nice and hot let's spread the Batter. And now, let's start sprinkling all the vegetables. So I've Capsicum here finely chopped, Onions finely chopped, finely chopped Green Chillies, finely chopped Tomatoes and some Coriander Leaves.

Let's drizzle a little bit of Oil. Also, Slightly press all the vegetables so that they stick to the batter Let the Uttapam cook on one side. Let's flip the Uttapam. It's beautifully cooked on one side. Let's cook it on the other side as well. Slightly press on it and let it cook. Let's flip it over

it should be done on the other side as well. It's beautifully cooked and now let's get it out. Let's make a few more. These are ready, let's plate them. I'm serving them it some Green Chutney but you can serve them with any Chutney of your choice. Do try this recipe at home, let me know how it turned out.
